2009 will be a critical year in the campaign to stop the fascist BNP breaking through into the mainstream. Yorkshire & the Humber is a crucial region, with the BNP possibly needing as little as 11% of the vote to win a Euro MEP. It is vital that every opportunity is taken to ensure that all those who oppose what the BNP stands for use their vote in June.

Leeds UAF will be organising a range of activities to encourage the anti-fascist majority to actively challenge the racist myths and lies ofthe BNP. Please look out for future details on the website.

Holocaust Memorial Day on 1 February 2009 in Leeds will play an important part in reaching out to hundreds of thousands of people. The anti fascist message of NEVER AGAIN! will have particular resonance this year.

The national Unite Against Fascism conference will take place at Congress House on Saturday 21st February. It will be an opportunity to bring together all those campaigning to stop the BNP achieving its key goal of becoming a legitimate, national political party.

The Yorkshire & the Humber Unite Against Fascism conference on Saturday March 14th will publicly launch our regional campaign to stop the BNP. We urge all anti fascists to participate in the conference and encourage others to attend.
